GLOSSARY
The declarations page, or “dec page,” is the snapshot at the front of your policy. It lists named insureds, the vehicles or property, coverages, limits, deductibles, policy dates, and the premium.
If something is wrong on the dec page, the rest of the policy may not match what you think you bought. Read it when it arrives, not only after a claim.
EXAMPLE
Your new auto dec page should show the right VIN, the drivers you listed, the liability limits you chose, and any collision or comprehensive deductibles.
Lenders, courts, and claims teams often ask for the dec page as proof of coverage. Errors here delay everything else.
If a name, address, or vehicle is wrong, tell your agent right away. Binding and claims both depend on that list being accurate.
